The miniature circuit breaker is a fuse that disconnects the circuit in case of an overload, protecting the line from damage due to excessive current heating. For a maximum current of 32 A, we recommend the following cable cross-sections:
- 6 mm² for surface-mounted cables (not installed in a wall)
- 6-10 mm² for cables in installation pipes
- 10 mm² for cables in thermally insulated walls
For a maximum current of 16 A, we recommend the following cable cross-sections:
- 2.5 mm² for surface-mounted cables
- 4 mm² for cables in installation pipes
- 10 mm² for cables in thermally insulated walls
However, the final decision should be made by an electrician based on the local conditions. The installer must also consider the simultaneity factor when calculating the cable cross-section. The simultaneity factor should be set to 1, meaning the electrician must assume that the cable is always fully loaded.
