Using the charger

  • How do I adjust the charging power on the Amprisen Charger?

Adjusting the charging power on the Amprisen Charger is straightforward.

    You have two methods:

Option #1: Adjust the charging current directly on the Amprisen Charger by briefly pressing the TFT Screen(If the charger is with TFT screen). Please note, the button can only be used before starting the charging process; it is disabled during charging.

Option #2: Set the charging power using the Amprisen app. Navigate to the "Charging" tab and click on this symbol. Here, you can adjust the charging power as needed, even in 1-ampere increments using the slider.
  • How can I export the charging data from my Amprisen Charger?

To export charging data from your Amprisen Charger, open the app and navigate to "Charging Statistics." Here, you can view the charging status, energy consumption, and other details. Tap the "Export" option located in the top right corner to export the charging data as a CSV file. A new window will prompt you to enter your email address. Once entered, a green confirm button will appear. Click "Confirm" to send the CSV file to your email address.
  • Is lowering the charging capacity effective in extending the battery life of my electric vehicle?

Based on our experience, the charging capacity has a minimal impact on battery aging, particularly when using alternating current. Although various claims exist online, they often refer to outdated battery technology and smaller battery capacities.

A useful metric for understanding charging capacity and its impact on battery health is the C-rate, which represents the ratio between the charging current and battery capacity. For instance, if you charge your car at 22 kW and the battery has a 22 kWh capacity, the C-rate is 1. If the battery capacity is reduced to 11 kWh while the charging current remains 22 kW, the C-rate becomes 2. A higher C-rate indicates a greater impact on battery life due to the charging process, although this effect is significant only with very high mileage. When the C-rate is 1, the reduction in battery life is negligible.
  • Where can I view the charged kilowatt-hours (kWh)?

In the app, you can view the electricity charged during each charging session and the total kWh charged. Additionally, charging energy can be displayed for all user accounts. The easiest way is to check it by reading the screen display.
  • Is it possible to adjust the charging power manually?

You can adjust the charging power either by using the TFT on the device, or via the app. The values can be customized within the app to range from 6 to 16 or 32 amperes, depending on the charger’s maximum capacity (7/11 or 22 kW).
  • How can I control the Amprisen Charger using multiple smartphones?

The first user acts as the administrator and has the authority to invite others to access the charger. If someone requests access to the charger, the administrator will receive a notification to approve or deny the request.
  • Does my charger have to be connected to WiFi to use the app?

No, your charger doesn't need to be connected to WiFi for basic app functionality. The app can operate through bluetooth. However, features like remote control, flexible electricity tariffs require a WiFi connection.
  • Can I operate the Amprisen Charger without using the mobile app?

Yes, you can use all the primary functions of the Amprisen Charger, such as starting/stopping charging and adjusting the charging current, without the Amprisen Charger app. However, to modify basic device settings, utilize comfort functions, read the internal electricity meter, or control the charger remotely, you will need the Amprisen Charger app. You can manage the device up close via its built-in access point. For remote control capabilities, you must connect the charger to your WiFi network.
  • How do I stop charging?

The charging process automatically stops when the car's batteries are fully charged or when an event defined in the app occurs. You can also manually stop charging either through the app ("Charging" tab) or by unplugging the charging cable from the vehicle side.
  • Is it possible to modify the default setting for initiating the charging process?

You can adjust this setting through the app, ensuring that the charging process will only commence once you unlock the charger using either the app or an RFID chip.
  • How to start charging?

Once the Amprisen Charger is installed by an electrician, you can immediately start using it. Simply plug the type 2 cable into both the car and the charger, and charging will begin automatically with the default settings (Plug and Play). If you disable the Plug and Play mode, you have two additional methods to start charging: 1. Using an RFID card, or 2. Using the app.
  • Can I use theamprisen Charger for charging with a type 1 / type 2 plug?

The Amprisen Charger is compatible with charging all electric vehicles that have a type 2 plug. Vehicles with type 1 plugs can also be charged using the Amprisen Charger by utilizing a type 1 to type 2 adapter or cable.
