Home Charging insights for residential buyers

Home Charging articles explain residential charger choices for houses, apartments, villas, and small private parking areas, including AC wallbox chargers, portable chargers, Type 1 and Type 2 connector standards, app control, display options, cable route, breaker selection, installation safety, and everyday driver convenience. These notes help dealers and installers guide customers without confusing a simple home charging need with a commercial OCPP operation.

Buyer questions answered

  • Should the customer use a fixed wallbox or portable charger based on parking space, wiring access, and whether they need to move the charger?
  • What current, plug, connector, cable length, breaker, phase, and cable route are safe for the home installation?
  • Which simple smart features improve everyday home charging, such as app start, delayed charging, current adjustment, solar mode, or display feedback?
  • Does the buyer really need OCPP, RFID, 4G, or backend operation, or would that add cost and support complexity for a private residential user?

Selection notes

  • Confirm phase, breaker, cable route, connector type, wall position, outdoor exposure, IP rating, and target market certification before recommending a home charger
  • Avoid over-specifying OCPP if the customer only needs private home charging, but keep app control, safety protection, and clear user instructions visible
  • Keep installation guidance clear for dealers, electricians, and end users so the charger, cable, and electrical protection are selected together
